Yerald Pinilla | From Chile to the South American champion: “I’m nervous”

In November 2021, the young Yerald Pinilla left for Ecuador to try out for Independiente del Valle. While enjoying his days in that country, the striker from San Luis told his hard story in conversation with AS. A year later, the player returns to have an opportunity in the Copa Sudamericana champion.

“The first time I came, everything went very well, but I couldn’t return due to external problems. Now they contacted me to return and managed everything to see me. I will be there until mid-December and I will return to Chile to spend the end of the year holidays, ”says Pinilla in a brief dialogue with this medium.

The 18-year-old attacker arrived in Ecuador on Saturday and his first training session with the Independiente del Valle Sub 19 will be this Monday: “Let’s see if I stay here to start next year. It would be great, I feel like I’m here again for that.”

– How do you feel when you reach the South American champion?

– I feel nervous knowing that they are champions and because of the quality of players that one is going to share with on the field. The first time I came I was impressed.

– Did you have the opportunity to talk with Matías Fernández?

– Not yet. I just got here yesterday, but in this short time I hope I can run into him and say hello. We don’t know each other, but among Chileans one understands each other (laughs).
