World controversy for “disloyal” knockout of a gringo boxer: he hit his rival after shaking his fists

A controversy of those was generated this week in the world of boxing, which featured the American Rubén Torres and the Venezuelan Cristian Báez.

Although the situation occurred last Saturday, it only now “exploded” on social networks, where it began to go viral among boxing fans.

It all came about when Báez accidentally fell with his rival’s leg and fell near the ropes. For the same reason, the referee gave him space and allowed him to get up calmly.

However, Torres took advantage of that circumstance to win the fight. In fact, once his rival was on her feet, he reached out to shake her gloves, but it was all a setup.

Just like that, because as soon as he caught him off guard, he dealt him an accurate blow that knocked out the llanero.

Immediately afterwards, the judge ended the fight and gave the victory to the gringo athlete, who was pointed with the finger and accused of “disloyal” for his unexpected blow.

Tower’s defense

Of course, Torres did not catch the wave of criticism he received and even went out to defend himself.

“They always say to protect yourself at all times. This is boxing and fighters like me are always on the attack. The referee gave the signal to start fighting again and I came out with guns blazing, especially after I knocked him down,” he clarified.

“I hit him with a left hook and that was it, the fight was over. I am ready to move on to bigger and better fights as I move up the rankings.”
