Get ready for the big closing. Blizzard confirmed the date that Overwatch 1 will be playable for the last time.
Overwatch 2 is yet to come and fans are more than excited. Unfortunately, this release means goodbye forto Overwatch 1. That’s how it is, ActivisionBlizzard confirmed that it will close the servers of the first version as soon as the sequel comes out.
Blizzard confirmed that Overwatch 1’s last day of life will be this October 2. Through EurogamerBlizzard’s Jon Spector commented “We will be shutting down the Overwatch 1 servers one day before Overwatch 2 launches.” Likewise, Spector pointed out that from the time the servers are closed until the sequel’s are opened, at least 27 hours will pass. It should be noted that Overwatch 2 will be available until October 4 and users who have the first installment will be able to download the sequel in advance.

Overwatch 2 will continue to be a first-person shooter focused on competitive team multiplayer. As in the first installment, players will be able to choose from a wide variety of heroes with their own abilities.
Of course, Overwatch 2 will be completely free to play, which means one big change: loot boxes will no longer exist. Now, players will be able to get skins through the battle pass. You can read all about this pass here.
