Universidad de Chile is experiencing a crucial end of November for the next season. The blues’ task list includes hiring a new coach, searching for reinforcements and defining the players who will not continue next year.
Who will be the new coach of Universidad de Chile?
This Thursday, November 24, a board meeting is scheduled, where the sports manager Manuel Mayo will present to the directors the options that are being handled to assume the position that became vacant after the departure of Sebastián Miranda. For now, they would continue in the race Mariano Soso, Mauricio Larriera, while Nicolás Larcamón and Mauricio Pellegrino look further away due to their economic proposal.
Reinforcements University of Chile 2023
The U confirmed its first reinforcement for 2023 last week. Juan Pablo Gómez, one of the best players of Curicó Unido, was made official as a brand new reinforcement of the Blues. The side would not come alone. The U has also been negotiating for a couple of weeks for another side of the tortero team: Ronald de la Fuente. According to information from the Cooperative, the first two proposals were not accepted.
In the midfield, for now, there are fewer certainties. The U and Marcelo Díaz have not yet entered into formal negotiations for the long-awaited return of the steering wheel, who is free after leaving Libertad. For their part, Federico Mateos and Brahian Aleman are other interesting names, but for now they are far away.
“There is interest from the Chilean team, they contacted me, but it is not that we are close. We are just starting negotiations. We have not yet started the negotiations to see the possible scenarios”, informed the representative of Alemán, Gerardo Arias, to La Tercera.
“They come with desire”: the three young people who promise in the U
Who leaves the U
After another very poor season, it is expected that the list of casualties in the U will be long. In it, some players who have a current contract are included but will not be taken into account. Ignacio Tapia, Luis Felipe Gallegos, Pablo Aránguiz, and Ronnie Fernández enter this section. They would be joined by others who could emigrate on loan such as José Castro and Mauricio Morales.
Secondly, Marcelo Cañete and Nahuel Luján must return to the U but it is very unlikely that they will continue. Both spend foreign quotas, and although they have a current contract, they will be sought out a loan or contract termination.
