The Short Message might only be for PS5, sorry Xbox gamers

The Silent Hill franchise returns with a bang in 2023, as developer Konami plans to release several new Silent Hill games. A mysterious title known as Silent Hill: The Short Message has players excited, especially those on PlayStation 5. However, Xbox Series S|X players may need to lower their expectations to dive into this new adventure of konami.

In October, Konami finally revealed the future of the Silent Hill franchise with the Silent Hill Transmission showcase. Games like Silent Hill: Townfall, Silent Hill: Ascension, and the highly anticipated Silent Hill 2 remake have been officially revealed, but a title remains to be announced.

The details of this additional release from Konami have been a mystery, but it appears that Silent Hill: The Short Message will be released exclusively on the Playstation 5.

According to ResetEra user and notable leaker’dust golem‘, Silent Hill: The Short Message has been rated by the Taiwan Digital Game Sales Regulation Committee. I like the rating of the game by the Korea Game Administration and Classification Committee in September, Konami’s next title is still a PlayStation 5 release.

Sadly, it looks like Xbox gamers will be left out as the latest batch of Silent Hill games eschews Microsoft’s console. It’s not all doom and gloom though, as the Tawainese rating has given us a better perspective on the short message.

According to GameRating’s synopsis, Silent Hill: The Short Message will follow “Anita,” who “arrived at an abandoned apartment to meet her friend Maya, and somehow woke up to find herself trapped in it.” Players must use her wits to “escape her own fears and the monsters lurking in the halls, uncover the truth behind the events she is trapped in, and try to escape before her own trauma consumes her.” their will to survive.

Along with the first insight into the story information, Silent Hill fans can also revel in what appears to be official key art for The Short Message. However, the image is not for the faint of heart, as it depicts a particularly harrowing scene from a blood-soaked apartment. We will wait outside.

It remains to be seen what form The Short Message will take, as it could utilize PSVR2 and act as a spiritual successor to the critically acclaimed PT demo, given the game’s location. But that’s just hopeful speculation, for now. In the meantime, you can wait for the Silent Hill F release date, which is one of many games we’re looking forward to in 2023.
