The reinforcement that makes Quinteros suffer

Facing 2023, Gustavo Quinteros has already set a task in Colo Colo: strengthen the offense. The coach requested the signing of a ‘9’ to compete with Juan Martín Lucero, also thinking about the Copa Libertadores. However, so far, Black and White has not done well in the market.

The main candidate for the position was Leandro Benegas, a name that Quinteros had already noted in June. Nevertheless, the striker renewed his relationship with Independiente de Avellaneda a few days ago and, with this, a return to Chile is almost impossible.

The other option was Ignacio Jeraldino. Gustavo Quinteros also wanted him a few months ago, when the footballer was not very active in Santos Laguna, but he ended up coming to Coquimbo Unido.

And now it turns out that Jeraldino would not land at the Monumental eitherbecause in the Black and White directory they are not sure of their hiring. Anibal Mosa declared it publicly at the end of November.

“I don’t know if it is the profile that Colo Colo needs… Bringing a striker from a team that was almost relegated to Primera B… I insist: we have to raise the level and make a team to compete in the Copa Libertadores”, were the words of Mosa.

Given this scenario, Quinteros’s concern grows. For now, his only certainties are the arrivals of goalkeeper Fernando de Paul and center-back Ramiro González, whom the winger Erick Wiemberg would join them.
