The Chilean goalkeeper gonzalo collaodecided to close a cycle in Europe and stopped belonging to NK Istra in Croatia, the club where he was in the last two seasons.
Collao is 25 years old and now, after the experience acquired in European football, he wants to look for new challenges. First in 2020 he signed for Extremadura in Spain and then went to the Croatian cast.
At NK Istra, which plays in the First Division, he added seven games in 2021-2022, five for the League and two for the Cup. In those games he received 10 goals. In this season he did not add minutes and was only on the bench in the duel against HNK Gorica.
Trained at Universidad de Chile, the Coquimbano goalkeeper played two games for points in the blue box and was also on loan at Cobreloa, where he played nine games. In 2018 he was nominated for the Chilean national team by Reinaldo Rueda, where he debuted with a 3-2 loss to Romania in Austria. As he was a member of the Calama squad, he was the first B goalkeeper to defend La Roja in 24 years.
In 2020, he made the decision not to continue at Universidad de Chile and went to Europe, seeking to grow and gain experience. His first season was Extremadura in Spain, where he played three games and was relegated to the Third Division in 2019-2020, but he had more continuity in the subsidiary team.
