Sony buys mobile game developer Savage Game Studios

Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE) has announced the purchase of SavageGameStudiosan expert video game studio for ‘smartphones’, which will join its mobile division PlayStation Studios Mobile Division.

Savage Game Studios, founded in 2020 and based in Berlin and Helsinki, has been incorporated into the PlayStation Studios Mobile Division, which carries out operations separate from the Japanese brand’s console development tasks, with the aim of creating innovative experiences and portables based on new and existing PlayStation IPs.

From Savage Game Studios they have assured that they believe that the management team of PlayStation Studios respects their “idea of ​​operation and success” and that neither “they are afraid to take risks” with the content they offer, according to statements contained in the playstation blog.

For its part, the Asian company has acknowledged that it maintains its plans to launch certain titles on PC to reach “beyond” consoles and that its efforts to offer mobile games “will be similar”.

In this way, it hopes to focus on video games for ‘smartphones’ with the aim of offering more possibilities for people to interact with its available content, as well as reach new audiences familiar with the brand.

It has also advanced that Savage Game Studios is already working on a new game AAA Action ‘Live Service’ for mobile, which has not yet been announced and whose details will be announced later.
