It has been more than a year since it was announced that Wolverines would have its own video game from the hand of Insomniac Games, the same company that made Marvel’s Spider-Man Y Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales. But while there haven’t been many relevant updates on that title in recent months, apparently the developers’ plan would be throw to Marvel’s Wolverine in 2023.
While a timeline for the game’s release was never set in the announcement, Microsoft charged that it will be released over the next year as part of PlayStation’s lineup of exclusive titles.
The company behind Xbox noted that information in a statement before The Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) of the United Kingdom due to the investigation into its purchase of Activision Bilzzard, something that Sony maintains would give Xbox an unfair advantage in the video game market.
So, since Microsoft wants to prove that Sony won’t be put at a disadvantage in the very document where it said there would be a deal to stop the arrival of Call of Duty to GamePass the company wrote: “PlayStation also has a number of first-party and third-party exclusive titles scheduled for release in 2023, including Spider-Man 2, Wolverine, Horizon, Final Fantasy XVI, and Forspoken.”
But before you get your hopes up, it should be noted that although this is an official document in the context of the investigation into the purchase of Activision Blizzard, it is in no sense a formal announcement since Microsoft is not involved in the development of Marvel’s Wolverine So for now this is just a rumor.
