And the Executive adds: “At the beginning of 2022, I think that almost everyone in Artificial intelligence I was anticipating some really impressive things, now that we are almost done with the year, and even with those high expectations (…) It is amazing to look back and see the magnitude of the innovation that we saw. The things that researchers and others have done to advance the state of the art are light years away from what we thought possible even a few years ago in AI models.”
Key releases, such as GitHub Copilot, a language model-based system that converts natural language prompts into code, positively impact developer productivity. They establish new reference standards regarding the use of these solutions.
Another example is generative image models like DALL∙E 2, a system that, while it doesn’t turn everyday people into professional artists, gives many people a visual vocabulary they didn’t have before.
However, it is in research projects where we can observe a greater degree of maturity of the Artificial intelligence.
