MADRID, November 21 (Portaltic/EP) –
screen manufacturing company LG Display has presented this Tuesday ‘Thin Actuator Sound Solution’a car speaker thin and light designed to be installed inside the body and offer better sound quality.
According to LG, this new sound technology, which will be commercialized in the first half of 2023, ushers in “a new era of in-vehicle infotainment.” In addition, as an innovation, its technology uses the vibration of various materials of the car body to allow a “immersive 3D” sound experience to the user.
Unlike conventional loudspeakers, ‘Thin Actuator Sound Solution’ avoids components such as the voice coil, cone or magnet, reducing size and weight. In fact, it has a size similar to a passport (150mm x 90mm) with a 2.5 thickness mm (equivalent to two coins stacked together) and a 40g light weightwhich makes it just the 30 percent of the weight and 10 percent of the thickness of a normal car speaker.
As the company has explained on its news page, its compact size allows it to be installed in places like the dashboard, headlining or even headrests. Furthermore, this speaker technology not only makes it possible to eliminate the use of speaker grills, but also improve space efficiency in the vehicle by being freer by not having to include the usual speakers.
Also I know remove components that are usually used in common speakers such as neodymium (Nd), which increases the ecological factor of the ‘Thin Actuator Sound Solution’.
“We’ve transformed the conventionally heavy and bulky loudspeaker into a high-quality ‘invisible’ sound solution by using our cutting-edge technology to elevate space, design and ecological factors and deliver a next-level sound experience like never before. before,” Yeo Chun-ho, vice president and head of LG Display’s Business Development Division, said in this regard.
