Pancho Saavedra lived a moving moment in “Talking Places”, after meeting Catalina Calbucheoa horticulturist from Puerto Williams who told him about a terrible experience she has had with the health system, although on her social networks she expressed hope after receiving good news.
This person told the face of Canal 13 that “I had an accident, I got entangled in a mesh, I fell and hit a post and said ‘Oh my God, I broke my arm’”.
“I started to cry and suddenly I realize that the shoulder part was out of place. I called my old man to help me up but he doesn’t listen well. I was lying for two hours until my son arrived. He took me to the hospital, they gave me morphine, and the doctor took an X-ray and told me that he had nothing and that maybe he had a crushed tendon.”, said the horticulturist.
Finally, he clarified that “I had to take several private exams to get out faster”, something that began to outrage Pancho Saavedra, who asked what he did after seeing that “He did not receive public health care here and had to go his own way to get private tests”.
“The doctor who saw me after told me that I had the pure shit… on my shoulder. There is nothing else to operate. And they still haven’t operated on me”, closes part of his story, to which the driver is most indignant when he finds out that this happened a year ago and he has not received medical attention.
“How nobody does anything, a mayor or an authority, someone who does something, moves papers, calls the Ministry of Health. How embarrassing and how outrageous”, said Pancho Saavedra, to receive the comment that “The authorities come from Santiago, they take good helicopter rides, they eat delicious food and they leave.”
The good news of Pancho Saavedra
While the program was broadcast, Pancho Saavedra used his social networks to give great news: “After knowing the story of Mrs. Catalina Calbucheo, I contacted important government authorities to tell them about this case”.
“During the last few days, the Undersecretary of Healthcare Networks has communicated with her family, especially with her son Julio Maricoy, to manage the best solution for the health problem that is so bad for her, also expressing her support during the process” , announced after revealing this terrible story, which apparently will have a good ending.
