Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2: How many multiplayer maps at launch for PS5, xbox series and PC hit?

Expected for October 28, Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 will undoubtedly be one of the most desired games of the end of the year. Reboot of the title of the same name from 2009, the work of the Infinity Ward studio builds on the foundations of the original, but offers a completely new setting, a spectacular single player experience and a multiplayer that promises to be ultra complete.

While players have already gotten a taste of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (2022) multiplayer with last month’s beta, it’s worth remembering that those players had to make do with a small selection of maps. Today, Dualshockers.com reports that the selection should be much more complete. According to the latest information, this is a first list of what to expect.

A total of 16 multiplayer maps for Modern Warfare 2 at launch?

According to a leak from Twitter user TheGhostofHope, it looks like the upcoming blockbuster will come with an interesting number of maps. In a 6v6 matchup, this would give:

  • Hotel Breenberg
  • Museum
  • Market of Souls
  • Taraq
  • Crown Raceway (formerly Grand Prix)
  • Al Bagra Fortress
  • Zarqwa hydroelectric dam
  • Santa Sena border crossing
  • farm 18
  • Embassy
  • The asylum

The largest battle maps (meaning with more players and therefore larger) would be based on:

  • Said
  • Sariff’s Bay
  • Saint Seine
  • Zarqwa hydroelectric dam
  • Al Bagra Fortress

These five maps would be exclusive to Land Warfare mode. Players who have pre-ordered the digital version of Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 can now access the single player campaign through Early Access. Multiplayer and special operations modes will be available from October 28, the official launch date of the game worldwide. Of course, not everything is set in stone, so this information is conditional until the title goes on sale in a few days. Be that as it may, after two years of waiting, Call of Duty is back with a bang and this Modern Warfare 2 promises to be as immersive as it is spectacular.
