Gabriel Costa: “I am leaving Colo Colo hurt; We wanted to stay with my family”

Before definitively leaving Chile, Gabriel Costa spoke with TNT Sports. The Peruvian winger, who a few days ago announced his departure from Colo Colo to reinforce Alianza Lima, He reflected on his time in the Alba squad.

“It’s a bit sad (to leave), but that’s football, life. One makes decisions and it is also based on the family, so that things go well for us, ”Costa started by saying, and then had words for different Colo Colo officials.

“I want to thank the people of the club, the workers. To Gustavo (Quinteros) and Daniel (Morón), who pushed for me to stay. What happened after that was my own decision, surprising for me too, where everything changed in a few hours,” said Costa, who won four titles at the Monumental.

The attacker revealed that his idea was to stay in Colo Colo and, therefore, he commented that leaving the club “was a tough decision, because obviously we wanted to stay, but there were points that I did not agree to in the negotiation. I left hurt, because I wanted to stay, and my family and my son much more. There are decisions to be made and unfortunately it is to leave”.

“The contract was fine and then it changed everything in fast hourswhere the decision is their own… Alianza Lima did everything possible to have me and I am grateful for what they did, ”added Costa.

Gabriel Costa also sent a message to Mario Salas, who was the DT who brought him to Chile: “It was a huge emotion to have been in this club. I want to thank Mario Salas, who was the one who did everything possible for me to be here. I send him a big hug and I love him a lot. He was the only one who did everything possible to make me stay.”

Finally, the Peruvian highlighted the quality of life in Chile. “The country is extraordinary, I loved the people, I loved everything. That’s why there’s a lot of emotion. I had good times, bad times like football and life, but I take friends and beautiful people with me. It is a country that I really congratulate for what they have”, he closed.
