As Microsoft’s acquisition of Activision Blizzard continues to progress, Phil Spencer discussed the future of the Call of Duty saga, mentioning that the game will come to Xbox Game pass but will also be available on PlayStation.
Through a publication in microsoft pageSpencer mentioned that Xbox is committed to “making the same version of Call of Duty is available on PlayStation the same day the game is released elsewhere.” with which some kind of special version of the game for Xbox is ruled out.
As Spencer added, that on several occasions has reiterated the importance of games like Call of Duty continuing to be multiplatform “We will continue to allow people to play with each other across platforms and devices.”
In the publication, he also refers to the Xbox Game Pass, mentioning that his intention is that the different Activision Blizzard games will come to the service once the purchase is made.
“We intend to make Activision Blizzard’s beloved library of games, including Overwatch, Diablo, and Call of Duty, available on Game Pass. and grow those communities. By offering even more value to gamers, we look forward to continuing to grow Game Pass, extending its appeal to mobile phones and any connected device,” he mentions in the post.
