Battlefield 2042 moves to Panama

Electronic Arts and the Battlefield team revealed Season 2 of Battlefield 2042: Master of Arms. Available August 30 on all supported platforms, this season brings a new wave of exciting content including: a new map, a Specialist, weapons and hardware, updates to the Battlefield Portal, and 100 tiers of Battle Pass content. Updates to the base content, including the new Specialist, weapons, vehicles, cosmetics, and more, are available to all players as part of the Free Tier Track in the Battlefield 2042 Battle Pass. Additionally, additional cosmetic items can be earned through of a Premium version of it.

In Season 2: Master of Arms, Battlefield moves to the Panama Canal on the new map Stranded, where you’ll fight on a drained lake, in and around a sunken oil tanker: the Starg Ceres, now serving as a trading hub for illicit weapons. Players will fight for control of this black market for military hardware. Upon entering the Starg Ceres, players will find an environment that favors close combat, with high cover density and short distances between targets.

Charismatic former arms dealer Charlie Crawford joins the fray in Season 2 as Battlefield 2042’s new Specialist. Charlie has a few tricks up his sleeve to give his team the upper hand; when he’s not pinning down his enemies with his mounted Vulcan stationary minigun (which can also be used by other Specialists, once placed), he’s assisting his teammates by reviving them and reloading his gadget ammo.

Season 2: Master of Arms also brings with it an arsenal of new weapons, new vehicles, and a new gadget. A powerful carbine, the new AM40 is designed to offer a compromise between an assault rifle and a machine pistol. The Avancys, a light machine gun, maximizes mobility and accessory compatibility, ideal for intelligence collectors looking to provide fire support, while the PF51 blurs the lines between a submachine gun and a pistol, and features a huge magazine ideal for fight against groups of enemies. The new Stun Grenade is a throwable device designed to temporarily confuse and disorient, to give you and your squad a tactical advantage.

Despats can now move around the battlefield in the EBLC-RAM, a four-seater vehicle that can efficiently maneuver at lower speeds and place a beacon where the entire team can spawn. Also, along with the first update of the season, players will get access to the fast and fun Polaris™ RZR, a lightweight buggy designed to glide across terrain.

New features for Season 2 include Missions, a way to unlock weapons in All-Out Warfare that were previously available on the Battlefield Portal, starting with the iconic M60E4 and M16A3, with more to come in future updates. Players will also be able to use the missions to unlock Season 1 vehicles, weapons, and Specialists if they were lost the first time.

Battlefield Portal will receive new creator capabilities, expanding the field available to players. For example, the new Custom Conquest preset allows for new rule modifications in Classic Conquest mode, while user-editable objectives will spawn many new game types. Additionally, the first Season Update will bring additional content to Battlefield Portal, including extra small play space options to allow for intense experiences in tight spaces, as well as five classic weapons from Battlefield 3, Battlefield Bad Company 2, and Battlefield 1942.
